Description
The Atlanta Marine D 3005 oil is destined for the lubrication of the crosshead engine casings which require detergency and high performance.
Recommended Uses
Lubrication of engine casing, bearings and refrigeration of pistons in crosshead engines. Bearings and Simplex and Wuakesha horns. Certain air compressors. Support bearings.
Qualities
Sufficient alkalinity in order to neutralize the compound acids which may pass onto the engine casing by means of the packing of rods. Detergency which guarantees the cleanliness of the engine casing and of the ends of the pistons refrigerated by oil. High resistence to additives at elevated temperatures, maintaining the TBN and the useful life of the oil. Excellent resistence against rusting. Good power of the separation of insolubles and water in the process the additives achieve an excellent resistence to hydrolisis. The miscibility and comaptibility with the oils of cylinders which may pass by as waste,through the packing of rods. Excellent antioxidant and anti-corrosive properties, protecting the metals which are to be found in the circuits and bearings. Good performance alongside the usual gaskets. Good anti-foam properties.

No special measures are required.
Fire control: Foams, dry chemicals, CO2, water spray.
Do not apply water jet directly as this may
cause the product to spread.
Environmental precautions
Danger of physical contamination in the case of spillage (water flows, coastal areas, the ground, etc.) due to its floating capacity and oily consistency which may cause damage to fauna and flora with which it comes into contact. Avoid its penetration into water containers or outlets. Decontamination and cleaning: Treat as an accidental oil spillage. Avoid spreading by using mechanical barriers and eliminate using both physical and chemical means.
